My show and tell today is my Hutch, my mother gave this to me, and she received it from a good friend Diane. This hutch has lived in more towns than some people. My mom received it when she was living in Glenrock, then she moved to Casper, then to Portland, back to Glenrock, then to Yakima, those were all the places that my hutch lived with my mom. Then in 2000 my mother gave me the hutch, I moved to Tallahassee and then in 2005 to Cairo. So my hutch has been on both costs, it is one of the things that my house feel like home. I remember having this in our home since I was two.

It's so nice to have a piece of furniture from your childhood. With all of the memories it brings.
How lovely to have a piece of family furniture with all that associated history. I don't think that I have anything in the house with a family background. I have pictures and jewelry and stuff but not actual furniture!
I've always thought its so nice and memorbale to have a piece of furniture passed down...its different than an heirloom and more unique in my opinion. Its a lovely hutch and you are lucky to have it!
Beautiful hutch and a great story! I wish I had one piece that held so many memories.
It's beautiful! I love pieces that move with people, from people-- such stories!! :)
My S&T
I agree with everyone. Sometimes just looking at something from your childhood can bring you the warm and fuzzies!
What a terrific post! Diane gave me that hutch just after I graduated from the Nursing Program and moved into my first apartment. I counted 12 times that hutch has been moved since 1974.
Love Mom
I remember my mom having a hutch similar to that. I always thought it was so cool.
